K-911 Dog Training Information

Review: Mine!

This ranks as one of the best books ever written on aggression. It manages to provide extremely detailed, effective, and humane treatment plans in a book written for dog trainers, yet understandable to a first-time dog owner. This is one I wish I’d written! Not only that, but it’s very inexpensive at $12.95.

The only regrettable thing about this book is that it doesn’t offer treatment advice on all types of aggression. It does, however, cover everything that falls under the category of Resource Guarding. This includes guarding food bowls, guarding toys and other objects, refusing to let owners on the bed or in the bedroom, and aggression when handled.

Extra bonuses include excellent instructions on how to acclimate dogs to wearing a muzzle and a detailed treatment plan for severe hand-shyness. I would recommend this book to any trainer or behaviorist, as well as any pet owner dealing with a resource guarding aggression problem.
